A heartbreaking situation

Monday night Catland responded to a police call-out after a beautiful black girl had been hit by a car. It was a heartbreaking situation.

She was rushed to the emergency vet, where she was treated and assessed. Then, something truly special happened! Sanju Sanctuary – kitten rescue in Javea stepped forward and offered not only to foster her, but to provide the intensive nursing she now needs around the clock. Truly wonderful!

This brave, beautiful girl, now called Emi, has substantial injuries. For now, she is on pain relief and anti-inflammatories. We are in that difficult “wait and see” stage, hoping her body continues to respond.

When rescues work together

Today brought us a moment of real hope, however. Sarah let us know that Emi managed to get herself to the litter tray and have a wee. This may sound like a small thing, but it is HUGE. A significant and positive step forward, and a sign that she is fighting.

Claire popped in to see her Emi. She is warm, safe, loved, eating, and surrounded by care. And most importantly, she is trying. We are incredibly thankful to Sanju for opening their hearts and home to give this girl a chance.

When rescues work together, lives are saved and Emi is living proof of that. It’s early days, but today we celebrate hope!
