The first ever Catland resident

Simpson – The first ever Catland resident

Before Catland was even built, Simpson lived near the site, surviving thanks to scraps of food from workers at the old landfill. Day after day, she appeared always waiting, always hungry. But when the work ended, the workers disappeared, and suddenly Simpson was left behind, facing an uncertain future.

A small feeding routine was set up to keep her safe, but then without warning Simpson vanished. Days passed, and worry set in. Had something happened to her? Injured, frightened, alone… no one knew.

Determined to find her, we set a trap with a camera, watching, waiting. Each empty day stretched longer than the last, until finally, there she was. Hungry but cautious, she crept inside, and finally, we caught her. You can watch the video a little further down for the rescue. Relief washed over us as we rushed her to the vet. The diagnosis: a twisted toe 🤦‍♂️ Painful, yes, but she was otherwise healthy and strong. Our girl had made it.

Always our Catland girl

Simpson remained at Catland in foster, cherished, safe and loved.  We always knew her true home was still out there.  Then, after nearly a year, the call came. A family in Switzerland; Benita, Andre, and their two wonderful daughters wanted to adopt her. This was it. Her chance.

To be honest it was a huge tug on our hearts but, Simpson needed her very own forever family.

The journey was smooth, the arrival even smoother. Today, Simpson is adored beyond words. She has brought even more love into an already loving home, and every update from her new family reminds us why we fight so hard for cats like her.

Happy life, dear Simpson you will always be our Catland girl. ❤️🐾
