Surprise stowaways! Four newborn kittens discovered in boat at Jávea Port

Last night, Catland received an unexpected call from the local police. A boat arriving from Torrevieja had arrived at Jávea port. Hidden beneath its cover was a shocking surprise: four newborn kittens!

The boat owners were completely unaware they’d been carrying precious cargo. It’s likely the mother cat had hidden her babies on board while searching for food, and the boat set off by road on a trailer before she could return.

A call for urgent help went out—and Sarah Mowers Paye was already preparing the Sanju kitten incubator to receive the tiny passengers. The kittens were rushed to Sanju Sanctuary – kitten rescue in Javea , where their temperatures were carefully checked (a crucial step before feeding), they were weighed, and gently given their first meal. Some of the little ones struggled with the bottle, so Sarah skillfully used a feeding tube—an expert method that keeps them safe from aspirating milk.

Watching this level of care was nothing short of incredible. Now, Sarah and Jools face sleepless nights ahead as they fight to give these babies the best shot at life. Please, support these kitties by donating via this link to support their lifesaving work. Every donation helps.

From all of us at Catland, thank you for your continued care and support.
