My name is Marissa Lester, I am Catland’s vice president. I am originally from Newcastle in the north of England but lived in London for 22 years where I worked as cabin crew for a major airline. I became a Spanish resident 2,5 years ago and now live in Javea with my husband and 2 gorgeous rescue dogs.

I met Claire Wall when walking dogs for the local dog shelter around 10 years ago. She had rescued a lovely podenco, Lily. My husband and I met Lily and decided to adopt her. Lilly is still with us today and living her best life with our other rescue dog Finley. Claire and I became friends and the rest is history as they say.

I’ve always loved animals and I am excited to be part of this new project right from its inception. We’ve gone through all the setbacks of Covid, weather delays, and the red tape that always surrounds projects like this. It’s great to begin to see all the effort finally start to take shape. We hope to help the many cats and kittens in the area.
